After her 23-year-old brother dies of a fentanyl overdose, filmmaker Doree Simon investigates stigma as the unspoken barrier to his recovery and treatment options that could have saved him. As overdose deaths rise, Doree’s journey from grief to acceptance leads her family through a labyrinth of regret, realization, and recovery.

Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Laura Poitras, All the Beauty and the Bloodshed is an epic, emotional and interconnected story about internationally renowned artist and activist Nan Goldin told through her slideshows, intimate interviews, ground-breaking photography, and rare footage of her personal fight to hold the Sackler family accountable for the overdose crisis.

the pacoima wash narratives

An experimental short documentary created for the Kounkey Design Initiative, a non-profit with the mission of turning unsafe and underused sites into "productive public spaces." In this specific piece, the site is the Pacoima Wash in California, which has a deep ancestral connection for the Native American community that still resides in the area.

This film documents three families struggling with extreme sensitivities to everyday elements of our surroundings. Perfumes, pesticides, even cell phones can trigger debilitating symptoms in these sufferers of environmental illnesses.
